[JACK IN THE RADIO @ 2023.10.21]
Miku participated in the JACK IN THE RADIO program on Tokyo FM radio. The program is presented by Tatsuro, lead singer of the band MUCC. An excerpt from the interview transcript was published in the section dedicated to the program on the radio website, please check it out!
********************************************
An Cafe released, for the first time in 5 years, the drama CD “Bandoru! -Idol Band Shiyoze-’ on October 25th, which includes the new song “Fly Again”!Tatsuro: This “Fly Again” is the highest pitched song so far.
Miku: That's right. I fell in love with a certain visual kei band during the coronavirus pandemic.
Tatsuro: Don't say “a certain band” (laughs)!
Miku: (laughs). It's Kizu.
Tatsuro: Ahh!
Miku: I've also been seeing things like the collaboration/feat that the band Kizu did with you ("Ichigeki", Kizu's 4th anniversary project) and, like that, LiME's (Kizu's vocalist) tone is super sharp, right? ?
Tatsuro: Yes it is!
Miku: So, I thought “can I do it too!?”. So I wanted to try something similar and also increased the tone.
Tatsuro: Wow! And it worked?
Miku: It worked. I went to karaoke and sang a lot of Kizu songs. So I thought “this is going to be great!”.
Tatsuro: Really!? When LiME told me “I have this project (Ichigeki), wouldn't you like to participate?”, I said “look, since Kizu's tones are all very high, I don't mind doing it, but I don't know if there is some song that I can sing, then let me sing a song whose tone is low. I said “it would be better if you let me choose between one of them”. So I chose one (among those with a low tone) and sang it (laughs).
Miku: But it was really good!
Tatsuro: Then I thought “I think this song will go well” and he let me sing this one.
Miku: Hmm… And it was definitely your style. When you got into the second verse, LiME said something like, “Aren't you attracted to Tatsuro's singing? (laughter).
Tatsuro: ahahahah(laughing a lot)!
Miku: While I was listening to it I thought “somehow this song is just like Tatsurou, right!? " (laughter).
Tatsuro: But it really was a good project, right? (laughter).
Miku: It was really good!
Tatsuro: So, (the highest note you sang in the new song) was a tone you could achieve before, but never used in An Cafe?
Miku: No, my high pitch increased during the pandemic.
Tatsuro: What do you mean??
Miku: I was frustrated, I went to karaoke all the time. At that time, I sang several songs by female artists, so by doing that, I naturally became able to do that.
Tatsuro: Wow…! But isn't the feeling of vocalization in a karaoke environment and a concert different?
Miku: It certainly is different.
Tatsuro: This trick (of singing karaoke) must have stuck with me somewhere, right?

I run @mouldymp3rotations where i hand out at least 5 free mp3s per month :3
For pretty much the rest of the year, I will be focusing on visual kei bands that built the foundations for my love for vkei, which is turning 20 this June !
I already posted the first one here (I thought I would get the obvious ones out of the way lol)
Now, I have several packs ready to be turned into post, but i don't know where to start, so I thought I would ask :)

Thanks for tagging me, @t3acupz! <3 I did this particular tag game before here; but I'll obviously do it again, just with a different band/artist! x)
Using only song titles from one artist/band, cleverly answer the questions then tag people:
Artist: MUCC (ムック)
what is your gender? SELF HATE
how do you feel? 絶望 [Zetsubou (Despair)]
if you could go anywhere, where would you go? 我、在ルベキ場所 [Ware/Waga, arubeki basho (My Ideal/Rightful Place)]
favorite mode of transportation? 最終列車 [Saishuu Ressha (The Last Train)]
your best friend? 遥か [Haruka (Distant/Remote)] (literally, geographically speaking, that's my best friend)
favorite time of the day? Tonight
if your life was a TV show? Psycho
relationship status? Zero
your fear? The End of the World
no pressure tags: @dragon1d @miiyo @iscariot-rising @hersweetrevenge & anyone else who wants to!!! <3
#finally got to do this with THE favourite band of mine lol#could've done it last time like that too i know but it was 'easier' with Creature Feature (and so oddly fitting lmfao)#i linked the songs for anyone interested in checking them out because i'll never not take my chance to spread my love for MUCC <3#tag game

hazuki (lynch) - omega 0.5, dracula // i found this guy's cover of rosier last week with hiroto from alice nine. turned on notifications for when this video went up, been obsessed with dracula since. no regrets.
#at first i was unsure about the opening interlude bc metalcore/screamo stuff isnt normally my thing#dracula begins at 1:12 when he picks up the guitar and gets in the coffin.. interesting choice there#i had considered posting an audio of just dracula but fuck it if im listening to the song bc the video dropped#i might as well just share the whole video. some people love the interlude#admittedly i get it after a couple listens although first looking at it i questioned it#this all sounds very modern. like it's very like the genres of music i listened to over 10 years ago#whose bands often consisted of predatory pieces of shit wow#but its hard to explain.... how the stuff had highs and lows and has become bigger than ever now#and leaked into genuinely mainstream artists' work#and it all sounds a little different ever since soundcloud rappers and occasionally pop artists started dabbling in the stuff#and post hardcore/pop punk artists dabbled more into the other side's shit too#i think some of them denied that urge in themselves for a long time tho. people were afraid of fusion at the time but things have changed#i am way on a tangent wow#not that this sounds poppy or like rap but it does sound very very modern to me#i've never listened to lynch before are they still together?#miya from mucc and aki from sid were on it too. i admittedly havent listened to mucc and know little about sid#if anyone has any song recs by any of them please let me know! i know a bit of sid from black butler#visual kei#hazuki#lynch#post hardcore#metalcore#emo#pop punk#j rock#song rec#shut up kaily#q'd 7/14/2023#Youtube

Hi, sorry i'm late again, I had a few other things to do, and I ended up forgetting about this month's rotation lol (also i wanna point out that this is the DIXième rotation \m/)
This month, I had made a poll to let vk tumblr chose for me which rotation from my 20th anniversary would be up next. Here are the results :
First of, I wanna say thank you for voting ! I was absolutely expecting to not get even 10 votes on this lmao. Thank you for participating in my little experiment eheheh.
As usual : Song titles link to individual mp3 file download
All 5 songs can also be downloaded together in a zip file from the link at the bottom
So here what I had in reserve for Deathgaze, Dir en grey, Gazette, Mucc, and Soroban :D
DEATHGAZE - Dies Irae
I did not realized this, at the time, but I literally got introduced to deathgaze with their very first release... which was with their original line-up, which is also how I got to discover Hazuki and how I also got introduced to lynch. with their first release too :D
Dies Irae was released on 294036224052, in 2004 (the whole thing is worth listening ♥)
youtube
Dir en grey - Obscure
A fucking classic. I said in the previous entry that I originally didn't like dir, so this one came after I gave them another try. I spent my last year of high school listening to this song in a loop in between moi dix mois songs lol
Obscure was on Vulgar, released in 2003 (which also is still in my top dir album ! I also still think the original version is superior to the 2011 version, but that's me :3 )
youtube
(sorry that's the only one that doesn't require signing in apparently)
GAZETTE - The $ocial riot machine$
Now, I gotta be honest, i happened to lose interest in gazette very fast, as they are one of these bands that the visual is more interesting than the music to me. Today, I think they are a good base to get into visual kei, they were back in 2004 too, even if they were babies :D But between 2004 and 06, I was also looking for heavier faster songs, and this song here scratched that itch (ngl it surfed on the wave pop is dead created lmao)
The social riot machines was found on the album Disorder, released in 2004
youtube
MUCC - 我、在ルベキ場所 (ware, arubeki basho)
HAAAA this song is still so very effective on me. Mucc went all over the place, and I like some of their songs from all their eras, but I think their early 2000's is my favourite. Actually I think ware arubeki basho might be my favourite mucc song. Anyway you should listen to mucc ! Mucc is also the opposite of band like the gazette, to me, cause i spent a loooooooong time listening to them without even knowing what they looked like except for Yukke lol (and even then, if he hadn't his blond bowl cut............)
And I just learned that ware, arubeki basho was a single released in 2003, before being on 是空 (zekuu), later that year.
youtube
(wow i had not watched that in.................. 20 years lmao)
そろばん (soroban) - -RAM-
Soroban is a band only me knows...... ok no lol. But i knew them before Yumehito went to Ayabie (two thumbs down tbh) I also spent the longest time with only that song from them because, in 2004, I didn't realize how fucking indie visual kei was and I wanted more soroban, but all I got is that soroban is the japanese word for an abacus... i ended up finding their (really short) discography years later and was almost disappointed that -ram- is their only song sounding like that (the rest is good too, actually, just less heavy and more kawaii i guess)
-ram- was the A-side of the -RAM- / オレンジ手紙 初回限定盤 (-RAM- / orange tegami) single, released in 2004 (orange tegami is also a very good song !!)
and I can't find -ram- on youtube (there's the 2006 re-recording i didn't know existed though) so here :
zip file with all 5 songs HERE ♥

It's not DIR EN GREY related, but do you have music recommendations for other Japanese bands? My problem with new bands is the anime-ish vibe I get from music, even "metal" or vkei ones (Don't know how to describe it better). I'd be eager to know if you or your followers can recommend any. Thanks!
Eh I literally tolerate only Dir en grey and sukekiyo's full discography. I gave other bands a try but I often find them very boring...
I purchased one album from The GazettE and Maximum The Hormone, if that counts?
Other than that, here are other bands that a portion of Dir en grey fans also like: lynch., l'Arc-en-Ciel, Mucc, Kizu, Mucc, Madmans Esprit (but South Korean), ling toshite sigure...
And of course, give a chance to Kyo's third band, Petit Brabancon.

MUCC to release 'Timeless': A 25-Year Musical Legacy Compilation
MUCC, a trailblazer in the Japanese music scene, is set to captivate fans with the release of their new album "Timeless" on December 28th. This eagerly anticipated album is a culmination of their profound musical journey, featuring an eclectic mix of 12 tracks. These include six songs from the exclusive singles of their album replication tour, "MUCC 25th Anniversary TOUR 'Timeless'", four re-recorded versions selected from the albums performed during the tour, a track from their split single with deadman, and their latest song "Timeless". Among these, one of the venue-limited singles has been remixed, adding a fresh dimension to the album.
To add to the excitement, MUCC has announced a series of in-store events titled "MUCC's Gift-Giving Party from Santa!" in six locations throughout December. In a delightful twist, band members will don Santa Claus costumes, engaging with fans through personalized signed goods, hand-written Christmas cards, handshake sessions, and photo opportunities. These interactions promise to create an intimate and memorable experience for their devoted followers.
The celebrations don’t stop there. Coinciding with the album release is the launch of the "25th Anniversary Special Edition MUCC FUKYU", an anniversary book commemorating MUCC's 25 years of musical legacy. The book, set to be released on December 28th, features content from the music magazine "Ongaku to Hito" and its special issue "PHY", along with recent interviews with the band members. Furthermore, a video collection titled "MUCC Live Chronicle 5 25TH ANNIVERSARY Upper Volume" will be released on February 14, 2024. This exclusive collection, available only to official fan club members through pre-order starting December 1st, includes six selected live performances from the first half of their 25th-anniversary year.
The "Timeless" album is a treasure trove for fans and music enthusiasts alike, featuring tracks that showcase MUCC's evolving sound and artistic depth. From the haunting melodies of "Siren" and "99" to the dynamic "G.G. -Timeless Ver.-" and the reflective "Libra -Timeless Ver.-", each song tells a story, woven into the fabric of MUCC's rich musical history. The album also includes the poignant "Shi no Ubugoe" and the contemplative "Yo -yo-", culminating in the introspective title track "Timeless" and the innovative "Sora -ku- (JaQwa Remix)".
Fans can also look forward to the unique in-store events, starting on December 2nd in Tokyo, with subsequent events in Miyagi, Aichi, and Osaka, where individual band members will participate. These events not only bring the music to life but also strengthen the bond between MUCC and their fans, celebrating the band's enduring presence in the music world.
In conclusion, "Timeless" is not just an album; it's a celebration of MUCC's artistic journey, a testament to their enduring appeal, and a gift to fans who have walked this path with them. It encapsulates the essence of MUCC - a band that continues to evolve, inspire, and connect with hearts across the globe.
